“Tax, Legal & Compliance” is a single, decision-oriented point of contact that provides comprehensive tax and legal information and serves all locations of the SFS Group. Given the increasingly conflicting priorities of internationalization, continued growth and increasing legal requirements, we play the role of sparring partner for our clients and provide them with professional services. As part of an effort to expand the Legal & Compliance division and build up the skills and expertise bundled in this area, we are looking for someone with a license to practice law and international experience to facilitate the organic growth and strategic further development of the SFS Group.

Your Tasks

  • Head up and coach the Legal & Compliance team and also promote individual further development
  • Ensure Group-wide adherence to compliance guidelines and legal requirements
  • Implement, monitor and comply with legal, regulatory and in-house policies
  • Evaluate and handle all legal matters pertaining to the company and provide legal advice to the BoD, GEB and the specialist areas
  • Ensure optimal interface management by engaging in active, transparent, Group-wide communication with all stakeholder groups
  • Represent the company in legal matters vis-à-vis outside parties
  • Draft agreements that minimize risks and maximize legal rights
  • Assume primary responsibility for the establishment and maintenance of processes related to obligations under stock exchange law
  • Ensure that training is provided on the topics of contract management and compliance
  • Overall responsibility for the articles of incorporation, organizational regulations and all contracts
  • Support on M&A projects and restructuring
  • Willingness to travel approx. 10%–20% of the time

Your profile

  • Legal studies with a MLaw or J.D. degree, admission to the bar and further education in the area of Legal & Compliance
  • Several years of professional experience as in-house counsel in an international legal environment with broad legal expertise (company law, litigation, stock market law, labor law, etc.)
  • Confident command of German and highly proficient in business English
  • Above-average communication skills (debating and persuasive ability), both spoken and in writing
  • Affinity with legally technical matters
  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity
  • Proactive entrepreneurial mindset, hands-on mentality, personable and open to cooperation with a wide variety of different stakeholder groups (management, operational lines, etc.)
